Houses and Cars in Kelapa Dua Wetan Flooded

As many as 20 houses at RT 01 and 03, RW 08, Kelapa Dua Wetan, East Jakarta are still flooded, Monday (8/29). Moreover, 15 cars are also flooded.

Based on Beritajakarta.com’s observation, the houses are at Jalan Haji Ba’in and Gang Darul Amal. The areas are separated by Jalan PKP Raya.
Tri Rohiyani (42), one of local residents, the puddle occurred since Saturday (8/27) at 9 PM. Worst condition was on Sunday (8/28) by 2 AM by 80 cm of height.

Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village Head, Budy Hartati, explained the sluice gate was eroded on Sunday at 1 AM. Then the water flooded the surrounding at 2 AM. Actually, the flood is caused by broken sluice gate.
“The sluice gate construction is neglected since several months ago. As the result, the water can not be flowed to the existing connecting channel,” Budy stated.
